Description

I have not attempted to recapture Sh2-101 since 2017; a year after I started astrophotography. Back then I was not going deep with a lot of integration time:

In addition to going deep with integration time, I also learned how to do Weighted Batch Pre-Processing in PixInsight. I had some issues getting it going, but my buddy Adam Block gave me a hand. I was really happy with the results, but of course had to take it to the next level with actual processing. I tried my hardest to do it justice.

The Tulip Nebula is a glowing cloud of interstellar gas and dust in the constellation Cygnus. This emission nebula is cataloged as Sharpless 101; Sharpless Sh2-101. The Tulip Nebula is about 8,000 light-years from Earth, and 70 light-years across in size.
